SUNDAYS | 9 & 10:30 AM

Going someplace new can be intimidating. Knowing what to expect before you get there can help.

When you arrive at Olathe Bible Church for the first time, we have prime parking spots reserved just for you. Someone will greet you at the door, but he won’t ask for a secret handshake or interrogate you for your life story. The Information kiosk is a great place to start once you’re in the main foyer. Our team can provide you with information and answer questions. There isn’t a dress code at Olathe Bible Church. Most people dress casually. Some choose to wear a jacket or tie. It’s a personal preference. We have programs for kids and students on most Sundays. Someone will help you check your child in and show you to his or her classroom. Or you can simply keep your kids with you in the worship service if you want. It’s your choice.

An usher will give you a bulletin when you walk through the front door of the Auditorium. It has some basic info about Olathe Bible Church and what’s happening in today’s service. Services are about 75 minutes long. We will sing around 4 songs. These are led by a band that cover a variety of styles from new, popular worship tunes to classic hymns. Our teaching pastors preach messages that are grounded in the Bible. Messages aren’t designed just to inform. They provide practical ways to apply biblical truths to our everyday lives. There may be some other things we do in a service too, such as baptism and communion.

In the end, our goal is to provide an opportunity for you to worship God. We want you to hear from Him and enjoy being in the company of others who are pursuing God. We won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do. And if you have questions about anything, just ask. We hope to see you soon!

Our Mission

At Olathe Bible Church, we want to help you become a passionate follower of Jesus Christ.

Becoming a follower, a disciple, of Jesus begins with an invitation. We’re not talking about a postcard in the mail. We’re talking about that still, small voice from God that says, “come follow me.” Those who choose to follow Him commit themselves to learning all they can about Him. They learn to imitate Him – in character, words and actions. They then tell others and help disciple others to know and be like Jesus.

We believe that there are three critical components to being a person who is passionately following Jesus. The first is to connect with God and others. We connect with God through worship, prayer and reading His word. We connect with others by attending worship services, participating in small group Bible studies and a variety of other relationship building activities.

The second component is transform. When we pursue God, His Spirit works in us and transforms us to reflect His character and love. We are changed people because of what we learn from God and His people and the experiences He takes us through.

Finally, we serve. We become the hands and feet of Jesus in our local church, our community and the world. We invest in the lives of others in an authentic, relational way to make a difference and lead people into experiencing the redeeming love of Christ.

The Bible

The Bible is God’s special revelation to mankind. Because of who God is, we believe the Bible to be inspired, without error, and the final word of authority in a believer’s life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-20.

The Trinity

We believe that there is one God who is personal and exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. John 6:27; John 1:1; Titus 2:12-13; Acts 5:3-4.

Creation and Sin

Man was created in the image of God to bring Him glory. However, the very first man and woman sinned and incurred death—not just physical death, but also spiritual death. Since Adam and Eve, all humans have been lost and born with a sin nature and live sinful lives apart from God. Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:10-19.

Because of His love, God sent His son Jesus Christ to be our Savior and Deliverer and Redeemer. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. Luke 1:34-38; John 1:1,18; John 3:16-18; John 4:6.

Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Scriptures. We believe Christ arose bodily from the grave, that He ascended to the right hand of the Father, and that He is presently making intercession for us before the throne of God. 1 John 1:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-6; Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Timothy 2:5.

Everyone who trusts Christ as their Lord and Savior will receive forgiveness of sins and experience eternal life. All who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God. John 3:1-16; John 1:12-14; Romans 6:23

Genuine Christ followers can be secure that they will spend eternity with God in heaven. Salvation is God’s work on our behalf, not based on any good we have done. All we do is respond to His gift by faith. God is the one who changes us. Therefore, it is impossible to be born into the family of God and lose one’s salvation. John 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-38; Ephesians 1:13-14.

Heaven and Hell

The Bible declares throughout that there is both a heaven and a hell. We believe that there will be a bodily resurrection of those justified by Christ unto everlasting blessedness. And we believe there will be a resurrection of the lost apart from Christ unto everlasting punishment. Revelation 20:11-15.

Everyone who has become a disciple of Jesus Christ should be baptized as a public declaration of what Christ has done for them. Acts 8:36-39; Acts 10:43-48. If you would like to know more about baptism or have a desire to be baptized, contact John Blackburn, Pastor of Spiritual Formation.
